Save the attached IDL file (cooling_path.pro) and run it when you start IDL. It adds the location of the code to your IDL path, so you can then just type:

.r cooling

; Just adds the directory containing the code to the user's IDL path

!PATH = '/disk/plasma3/rcf/idl_libs/rcflib/cooling/:'+!PATH
