SXT sees many transient coronal phenomena that are being compared with CME signatures as recorded in coronagraphs and in the heliosphere. One of the best ways to do this is to compare with LASCO, of course. We will encourage surveys of the joint data sets with the ultimate goal of understanding the causes of CME eruption. More specifically and practically, we will try to get a handle on the "dimming signature" found in flares and large arcade events (e.g. Hudson, IAU 153 and Hudson, Acton, and Freeland, Ap J 1996 to be published).
