This animation rotates the narrow line region
(NLR) to show you the cone-shaped region of illuminated clouds, then tips
the quasar over to demonstrate that the illumination is coming from the
intense nucleus of the quasar. Illuminated cones like this have been imaged
in many nearby quasars. The existence of light-cones supports
arguments for a doughnut-shaped torus
within the NLR which directs the light in this way.
