THINGS (The HI Nearby Galaxy Survey) is a Large VLA project that has resulted in maps of the neutral atomic hydrogen (HI) of a selection of some 30-odd nearby galaxies, at 6" angular and 5.2 km/s velocity resolution. The data are public and more than 15 papers have been published to date with several more in preparation. I will present the survey and a selection of the highlights, among which our contribution to understanding star formation at ~1 kpc scales in spiral galaxies, the structure of ther ISM as traced through HI, and the extent of HI disks.
