Spectroscopic measurements of the abundance of lithium in the atmospheres of Halo dwarf stars reveal a discrepancy by a factor ~3-4 with the predictions from Big Bang nucleosynthesis. I will present a short summary of the agreement between observed and predicted primordial abundances of light elements, followed by a more detailed discussion about Li in field Halo and globular cluster stars, exploring a range of proposed 'stellar' solutions to this problems, and new results from the study of lower red giant branch field objects.
