Please note that we are willing to make the agenda complete through discussions with you. The draft below need be regarded just as a strawman and we anticipate your constructive inputs for revising it. As you see below, the meeting structure is complicated; Monday, March 8 will be devoted to a plenary discussion on the Solar-B satellite as a whole, followed by three groups (SOT, XRT, and EIS) discussions for three days from Tuesday through Thursday, during which we may have plenary discussions, if needed, at appropriate times, probably at the beginning of each day. Since the group meetings differs in length from one group to another, we need to find out a better way to cross-organize the three group discussions. We'll have a closing, pleanary discussion in the morning of Friday, where we exchange our progresses achieved in the individual groups meetings and summarize action items. The meeting will be over, hopefully, by no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, but the SOT group meeting may be extended beyond. The worst case will be that we need to have the SOT meeting continued even on Saturday. Any questions/comments are welcome. When the discussion topicss are only related to a single instrument, for efficient convergence of our email discussions, I'd like to advise you to contact the following persons with a carbon copy sent to me (kosugi@laputa2.solar.isas.ac.jp). Saku Tsuneta (tsuneta@sxt2.mtk.nao.ac.jp) on SOT issues; Taro Sakao (sakao@spot.mtk.nao.ac.jp) with cc to Kiyoto Shibasaki (shibasaki@solar.nro.nao.ac.jp) on XRT; and Hirohisa Hara (hara@spot.mtk.nao.ac.jp) with cc to Tetsuya Watanabe (watanabe@uvlab.mtk.nao.ac.jp) on EIS. I'll be responsible for any other topics such as the overall meeting structure, the satellite system, and any programmatic issues. With best regards, Takeo Kosugi ISAS Solar-B Project Manager ----------------------------------------- Solar-B J/US/UK Design Meeting Agenda (draft) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. To have a consensus on the Solar-B mission goals; 2. To have a common understanding on the Solar-B satellite system which may pose stringent constraints on the individual instruments design; 3. To have a first step for establishing structrual, thermal, and electrical interfaces between the satellite system and the mission instruments, as well as between J- and US/UK-components in each instrument; 4. To establish the project schedule; and 5. To have clear action items.
