PEACE High Resolution Data

Data Quality/ Use of PEACE High Resolution Parameters at CSDS
The onboard magnetic field direction used in PEACE was incorrectly determined until 13 June 2001. This information is used in pitch angle selection onboard; thus the PAD data should be treated with caution before 13 June 2001. For further information, see FGM_offset (link tbc).

The PEACE Calibration Data Study (First Post-Launch Iteration), which combines ground and in-flight measurements, is expected to be completed in February 2002, to be followed by a release of new Virtual Instrument Description Files, for beta testing by science users. It would be unwise to attempt analyses using electron fluxes etc prior to the availability of these VIDFs.
