ALISON   WALLACE

This is a picture of the eclipse observed in Africa in 2001, which was the subject of my first solar physics project for my Masters dissertation. I think it is amazing that we can learn so much about the Sun when we essentially cover it up! One day I hope to witness a total solar eclipse.

My Research Interests are
  • Coronal response to flux emergence
  • Magnetic field topology and conditions for magnetic reconnection
  • Energy storage in the corona and the mechanism that triggers its release

My BIG Question about Solar & Stellar Physics is
''What are the processes that transport energy from the photosphere to the corona?''

A Science Quote I Love is
''Prediction is very difficult, especially if it's about the future.''   Niels Bohr

One Fact About Me is
I am a capoeirista.
