Supernova Remnants:  Then
However, it wasn’t long before
the first high resolution spectra of
SNRs from the Focal Plane
Crystal Spectrometer on Einstein,
made those results obsolete.
Winkler et al. presented clear
detections of line emission from
N, O, Ne, and Fe, in the spectrum
of Puppis A.  The line ratios
suggested a range of
temperatures, T = 2 - 5 x 106 K,
and a possible overabundance of
Ne.
