I am currently a professor of solar physics at UCL Mullard Space Science Laboratory. My main areas of research
are solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and solar wind formation. My publication l
ist is shown which will give you more details of my research areas. I am UK PI for the EIS instrument on the
Japan/US/UK space mission,
Hinode which was launched successfully on 22nd September 2006. I am co-PI on the EUV Imager (EUI) onboard the ESA Solar Orbiter mission.
I am an honorary professor of the Solar Magnetism and Activity Group at the National Astronomical Observatories in Beijing.
I am a partner in UCL's Centre for Space Medicine which aims to make use of technolgical and analytical techniques from space and apply them to areas of medicine.
