ESRO 4

The picture on the far right shows John removing the damaged ESRO 4 MSSL instrument from the ESTeC vibration table. Visible is the 200 mm grid of the Mass Spectrometer. The vibration controller did NOT control and a large vertical thrust was applied to the instrument. The damage is at the cylindrical collar just above the black thermal control paint. The gap (memory says ~3 mm) should not be there (compare with the picture on the far left).
