(Please quote ref:0607 in all correspondence)

A new lectureship post in Galactic Structure and Evolution has been created within the Astrophysics Group at Mullard Space Science Laboratory, UCL, underpinned by our strong involvement in the upcoming Gaia and Herschel missions. A track record in the field is desirable but not essential, and applications are invited from all candidates with significant accomplishments and promise for future achievements. The successful applicant will be expected to pursue a vigorous research programme in Galactic structure and evolution and to build MSSL/UCL capability and visibility in this field. The candidate will also fulfill a modest teaching responsibility at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Candidates wishing to transfer a long term fellowship are welcome to apply.

The salary will be in the Lecturer range: £29,138 to £39,160, plus some relocation benefits. The appointment grade will be commensurate with accomplishment and experience.
