HESSI Specific Instructions

Users who wish to use new changes made to the SSW software archive only when a major release is made available should configure their systems for the Release Environment.  Users who would like to use changes to the SSW software archive immediately should configure their systems for the Development Environment.  If you are not sure which environment to use, choose the Development Environment.

Setup for the Release Environment:

1.)    In the ssw hessi release directory, locate the file named "setup.hessi_env".  If you have installed SSW on your c: drive, you will find it here:    c:\ssw\hessi\setup\setup.hessi_env

2.)    Copy the file from the location above to your SSW site setup directory.  If you have installed SSW on your c: drive, you will find the SSW site setup directory here:    c:\ssw\site\setup\

Setup for the Development Environment:

1.)    In the ssw hessi release directory, locate the file named "setup.hessi_env".  If you have installed SSW on your c: drive, you will find it here:    c:\ssw\hessi\setup\setup.hessi_env

2.)    Copy the file from the location above to your SSW site setup directory.  If you have installed SSW on your c: drive, you will find it the SSW site setup directory here:    c:\ssw\site\setup\

3.)    From within the SSW site setup directory, open the file "setup.hessi_env" for editing in Notepad.  You will see the following text:

#!/bin/csh -f
#set the root for the SSW hessi directory, generally SSW does this under Unix.
setenv SSW_HESSI $SSW/hessi
/release
setenv SSWDB_HESSI $SSW_HESSI/dbase

4.)    Delete the /release portion from the text above.
