| | Jet-X - The QLF |
MSSL has the responsibility for the setting up an maintenance for a Quick
Look Facility (QLF) to be based at IKI. The QLF will act as a mission planning
interface and will be the primary data reception point for Jet-X data. It will
also support Western European scientists, both bases at IKI and remotely, in
checking the in-orbit performance of the Jet-X instrument. The main functions
of the QLF are:
  - Mission planning interface between JET-X and IKI.

- Scientific point of contact between JET-X and IKI.

- Generation of JET-X Command sequences.

- Acquisition of science and housekeeping telemetry (as quasi-real time
telemetry from a file server within 10 minutes of reception).

- Checking telemetry quality and continuity; identifying multiple copies
       of telemetry.

- Preliminary attitude reconstruction.

- Processing of housekeeping data for Status and Health checking.

- Limited science analysis (including image analysis for understanding
       problems with CCD detectors).

- Transfer of UK and Italian JET-X data to the UK data centre (RAL) for
       processing.
