EIS Master Study Database

Import the study into the master database

Procedure

1. In an open xterm type:
   • cd ↩

   This will take you to the home directory.

2. Run sswidl. Type:
   • sswidl ↩

   Start up a new instance of solarsoft IDL.

3. Run the IDL program to import the study. Type:
   • @s ↩

   This starts the eis_mk_study program.

4. Import the study from the /home/solarb/pm_study/2024/study_name/study_1.def file.

   As before, new rasters and/or linelists will be created and be assigned id's automatically.

   Make a note of the linelist id, the raster id and the study id as well as the acronyms.

5. Exit sswidl. Type:
   • exit ↩

6. Edit the description (.txt) file in /home/solarb/pm_study/study_name/ and update the study number in the file if necessary.

7. Rename the description file to "desc000nnn.txt" where nnn is the study id number assigned by the database.

8. Copy the description file into the /home/solarb/planning_db/study_descriptions/ directory.
