EIS Science Planning Guide

The EIS Science Planning Guide (ESPG) will provide users with information on the instrument characteristics and how the instrument will be used. The basic characteristics of EIS (and the other instruments) are given here. These pages will develop dynamically. Currently we have an EIS study form which allows users to play around with potential observations, and a list of EIS studies that are being investigated.

There is now a SOLARB/EIS branch of the SolarSoft Tree. Documentation for the EIS catalogue software is being developed here.

To give you an idea of what spectral lines will be observed in the short (170-210 A) and long wavelength bands (250-290 A) a list of the strongest lines see when observing the quiet Sun, an active region and a flare are given here. For a full list of lines available click here.

We are now defining our ideas about operations, planning and analysis. The following shows the current status of our plans;
