Welcome to the MSSL SOHO web pages. MSSL is a major contributor to the Coronal Diagnostics Spectrometer (CDS) instrument on SOHO. If you have any questions with regard to use, and analysis of GIS data please contact me directly at carl.foley@mssl.ucl.ac.uk The CDS is one of twelve instruments to fly on the ESA/NASA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory. CDS hardware and software have been developed in a large consortium involving the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (the PI institute), Max-Planck-Institut f|r extraterrestrische Physik (MPE), Goddard Space Flight Center, University of Oslo, here at MSSL, and others.

In the CDS project, MSSL is responsible for:

the Grazing Incidence detector System (GIS),

along with its associated electronics and software;

the Command and Data Handling System (CDHS) with its software;

the Experiment Power Supply (EPS);

and software for analysis of the GIS data.
